'The bomb and the plane'..together they changed the course of this world.

The plane that dropped the 'Fat boy' atom bomb in Nagasaki. The capsule like thing behind me is a life size replica of the original atom bomb (de-weaponized and same as the the series of 'Little boy' dropped in Hiroshima.) Now, don't ask me how's the thing sitting here when it has been already used in 1945.

On display in the Museum of the US Air force at Dayton, Ohio. You can catch more info about it here.

Nice pic Ranjit. I had seen the Enola Gay (the plane that dropped the a-bomb) in Air & Space museum in Wash DC. Is this the same plane? Or did they use 2 different planes in Nagasaki and Hiroshima? - Sukumar

Yep sir, they used 'Enola Gay' in Hiroshima and 'Bockscar' in Nagasaki. Both were B-29 superfortress bombers.

And yes, Enola Gay is in the Smithsonian museum in DC.But technically, it was the Bockscar which ended WW-2 cos Nagasaki was bombed after Hiroshima.
