I have been tagged by Sukumar who is the Chief knowledge officer (CKO) at cognizant and I have to write 8 least known / random facts about myself. So here I go:
1. I did my engineering at a place called Munnar , which happens to be one of the most beautiful hill stations in South India. Hence I literally ended up staying for 4 long years at a place where room rates typically hit upto Rs 2500 a day !
2.I worked real hard for the placement of my batchmates during college days and did some of the most weirdest things to gain access to HR honchos of IT biggies and smallies !
3.I was the default official anchor for all programs held at my college during my 4 years of stay. It was only after I passed out that my juniors finally heaved a sigh of relief ...
4.I like talking to people and understanding them especially those from rural India. Some of my greatest teachers in life were actually farmers from rural Andhra. I also like talking to senior citizens and try to make sure that they feel comfortable in my presence.
5.One of the greatest inspirations for me in my life is my father who started his work life at the age of 18 without any support structure / college degree. He retired last month as DIG after 42 years @ work. His prized possesions include awards for the best DIG unit in the country for 2 consequtive years and the President's Police medal for meritorious service.
6.During my college days, one of my friends used to live at a house which was well known as a haunted mansion in that area. It's a lone house in a 3 acre plot amidst thick canopy cover. I have walked alone to that house at the dead of night to clear doubts the night before my univ exams. Pheww, and I am still alive to tell you the story!
7.I love mentoring people and would go on for hours together if I am let free. So much that a stupid girl got so attracted to my talk at one of these sessions that she in all probability might end up becomin my better half. ( i.e if she mends her ways and listens to whatever I say :) for the rest of our lives)
8.I think the job that I would enjoy the most in my life would be that of a teacher. Coupled with my interest in reading business books, I secretly hope that someday I settle down in life as a teacher at a good busines school in some part of the world, preferably India. ( Though this won't happen before I make a meaningful contribution to the Indian IT industry either as an Employee / as an Entrepreneur )
I am done folks and I am tagging these bloggers :
Badhri , a good friend who designs microprocessors for a living
Divya , my school buddy
Rajesh, a consultant at Satyam and an extremely resourceful/helpful person ,
Harini, a fellow blogger at Satyam
Abhilash , who lived in the haunted house I was talking about !
Akshay , whom I met at Podworks.
Vijay, who is a podcaster and a music lover.Lemme see if this tag gets him going , sometime since he podcasted now.
Geeta Padmanabhan, a freelance journalist and a retired English teacher . Am an avid reader of her posts , though commented on them just once or twice ( More because of the nagging fear that she might trace out grammar mistakes in my comments) .Here I am taking the liberty of tagging you Ma'am.
Rules of the game :
- Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
- At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
- If you fail to do this within eight hours, you will not reach Third Series or attain your most precious goals for at least two more lifetimes :)
